How the discount is figured

New retail = the fair new equivalent, a budget small 3-drawer (~$60), a budget 47" 6-drawer (~$130), or a solid-wood 5-drawer chest (~$300-429) for the refinished piece. Not the inflated "MSRP" some resellers post to fake a discount.
Discount = 1 − (price ÷ new retail). At asking: refinished 75-83%, 6-drawer 54%, white 50%.
Why solid wood wins on this metric: laminate holds ~half its value used; solid wood drops 70-85% the moment it's secondhand, even when it's perfectly good. So the 70%-off deals live in the solid-wood / real-brand tier, not the cheap-and-cheerful tier.
